According To WWE.COM: At Extreme Rules, Kane trades in his dress shirt and dons the mask he wore as The Devil’s Favorite Demon to take on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in an Extreme Rules Match where anything goes.

For months, the Director of Operations aided the machine known as The Authority in preventing Bryan’s ultimate coronation as champion. The corporate 7-footer cost Bryan his chance at striking title gold on several occasions, and it almost became an inevitability that the Director of Operations would interfere in a Daniel Bryan match in some form. By getting the better of his former Team Hell No partner in singles and tag team competition, the “Yes!” Man used Kane as a stepping stone to petition for a main event opportunity at WrestleMania 30.

Stephanie McMahon berated Kane on the April 14 episode of Raw for his inability to curtail the bearded Superstar’s stunning ascent and goaded her employee to let out his inner demon by presenting him with the mask that once struck fear in the hearts of Superstars. The plan evidently worked, as The Big Red Monster reappeared with his mask on the following night, shockingly brutalizing Big Show with the ring steps. Having again revived the extreme side of his imbalanced personality, Kane will attempt to “eviscerate” the “Yes!” Man and send him tumbling down into the fiery depths of hell.

Kane didn’t wait until Extreme Rules to start his warpath. On Bryan’s first time back on Raw since marrying WWE Diva Brie Bella, Kane went on a rampage a la a Michael Myers movie, terrorizing the newlyweds and leaving Bryan in tatters following a series of vicious Tombstones.

The keys to victory in the upcoming contest may be found in the two Superstars’ clash of styles, not to mention the lawless framework of the Extreme Rules Match format. Kane will have his demonic power and unbridled rage to his advantage, while Bryan brings superior quickness and speed-based maneuvers, including the running knee that has found its target quite frequently in recent months.

Extreme Rules 2014 » Evolution vs The Shield (6-Man Tag Team Match)

According To WWE.COM: At Extreme Rules, a dream matchup becomes reality, and the result will be war. One of the most destructive and merciless factions in all of WWE history will reunite when the Evolution trio of Triple H, Randy Orton & Batista takes on the most dominant stable of The Reality Era, The Shield, on May 4.

Once an improbable fantasy showdown, Extreme Rules’ marquee Six-Man Tag Team Match is a direct result of The Authority’s dissolved association with their onetime lieutenants. Whereas The Hounds of Justice once did the bidding of WWE COO Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, friction has crept in, and to hear the participants tell it, this battle is a story of kings and soldiers and empires.

Triple H claims that if it wasn’t for him, The Shield products of NXT whom the WWE COO labeled “three of the most talented guys I've seen come along in years” would never have a platform on which to dominate in the first place. He has accused Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns of being power-hungry.

After WWE Director of Operations Kane let slip that it was The Game who’d orchestrated an assault on The Shield, however, the black-clad soldiers have taken aim at The King of Kings.

Vowing to simultaneously destroy what he created and show the world “what true power is,” Triple H will lead The Viper and The Animal into action against The Shield at Extreme Rules, marking the first time in a decade that Evolution will fight as a unit.

Along with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair as its senior member, Evolution ran roughshod over the competition in the early-to-mid 2000s, not unlike The Shield has done in recent years. Collectively, Triple H, Batista & Orton boast an astounding 31 World Title reigns.

Even beyond their histories of dominance, though, there are similarities between Evolution and The Shield. Evolution is steered by The Cerebral Assassin, while Rollins, known as The Shield’s Architect, has been a unifying force for his team. The Animal may be considered Evolution’s brawn; The Hounds of Justice have its own powerhouse, in Reigns. And while The Viper has been known to slip into maniacal behavior, Ambrose is the living embodiment of The Lunatic Fringe.

Extreme Rules 2014 » Paige vs Tamina Snuka (Divas Championship)

Paige may have unwittingly backed her way into winning the Divas Championship from AJ Lee, but to keep hold of the Divas division’s top prize, she’ll have to survive a one-on-one contest with AJ’s muscle, Tamina Snuka, at Extreme Rules.

After spending months in AJ’s corner, helping the sinister skipper secure the longest Divas Championship reign in history, Tamina stepped out of the shadows on the April 15 edition of WWE Main Event to win a No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal. Her dominant display in the match bumped Tamina to the head of the line of contenders, and on May 4, she’ll set her sights on The Diva of Tomorrow.

The matchup is a fascinating one for fans of Divas action. There are obvious parallels, such as the fact both competitors grew up in wrestling families. Tamina is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka, while Paige learned the ropes in Norwich, England, from her parents, Ricky & Saraya Knight, before joining NXT.

Their trajectories in WWE, however, are far from analogous. Since debuting in May 2010, Tamina has repeatedly proven herself to be an intimidating bruiser. But in those four years, her pursuit of the Divas Championship especially during AJ’s reign has at times seemed passive, and she’s yet to capture the butterfly-emblazoned title.

Paige, on the other hand, became the youngest Divas Champion ever when she won the title in her very first WWE appearance. And although she looked downright meek in congratulating AJ on her WrestleMania victory, the reigning NXT Women’s Champion quickly revealed herself to be much more than a star-struck Diva-in-training as she rocked AJ with the Paige-Turner for the win.

John Cena may have left WrestleMania 30 with his legacy intact after defeating Bray Wyatt, but The Eater of Worlds is far from finished with his legendary foe. Wyatt will continue his devilish quest to unleash the monster that he believes resides inside Cena at Extreme Rules on May 4, when the two clash in a Steel Cage Match.

Wyatt has made it clear from the outset that he is determined to reveal Cena’s virtuous persona, and that his mantra of “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” is nothing more than a façade hiding the nasty underbelly of the 14-time World Champion. In the midst of a chaotic battle that saw Cena take out both Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, Wyatt gave the Cenation leader a steel chair and begged Cena to bash him with it. Cena refused to give in to The New Face of Fear’s beckoning, conquering his fears and countering Sister Abigail into an Attitude Adjustment to claim victory.

Just days after his defeat at WrestleMania, an eerily happy Wyatt sent a message to Cena on SmackDown. The Eater of Worlds declared that he was willing to go to new extremes to bring out his foe’s ugly side. The Cenation leader embraced Wyatt’s eagerness to get hardcore on the April 14 edition of Raw, challenging his demonic rival to the steel cage showdown. On Sunday, April 6, 30 Superstars will celebrate both the 30th anniversary of WrestleMania and one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time when they compete in the first-ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Announced by WrestleMania 30 host “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan — whose bodyslam of Andre at WrestleMania III in front of 93,000 WWE fans remains one of the most iconic Show of Shows moments — the contest will feature 30 competitors seeking to create a lasting WrestleMania moment, etch their name in the history book and capture the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy, made in the image of the inaugural member of the WWE Hall of Fame, who was all but unbeatable in the battle royal format.

According To WWE.COM: Since being hired as Director of Operations by The Authority, the always volatile Kane has struggled at times to act in a manner befitting an impartial -- administrative figure. When challenged, he has often unleashed Big Red rage on any Superstars who refused to respect the rule of WWE COO Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. And now that The Shield has stopped following the company line, The Devil’s -- Favorite Demon will partner with The New Age Outlaws at The Showcase of the Immortals to attempt to put The Hounds of Justice in their place.

In a little more than a year’s time, the black-clad trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & United States Champion Dean Ambrose has laid waste to the likes of The Undertaker, The Rock, Daniel Bryan and Big Show. All the while, their unique brand of justice has often brought them into an unspoken alliance with The Authority along the way. However, after infighting and jealousy caused The Hounds to suffer heartbreaking defeats to The Wyatt Family, an intense “Shield Summit” on SmackDown brought Reigns, Rollins & Ambrose into a renewed unity that would spell destruction for anyone in their path — including, as it turned out, high-ranking Authority brass.

When Kane began talking down to The Shield and order them to administer beat downs to Big Show and Jerry Lawler respectively, the triumvirate refused to comply, instead turning their assault on the Director of Operations.

In response, Kane enlisted the services of the six-time Tag Team Champions, The New Age Outlaws, to help deliver a retaliatory strike to The Shield during a WWE Tag Team Title No. 1 Contenders Fatal 4-Way Match. It’s hard to ignore that Road Dogg & Billy Gunn have longstanding ties with The Authority’s Triple H, which date back to their days of running roughshod over Superstars as part of DX.

According To WWE.COM: History will be made on Sunday, April 6, when the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship — Invitational debuts at The Show of Shows. AJ Lee the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time will put her title on the line against 13 Divas inside the squared circle. SmackDown’s General Manger created the momentous match in response to the boastful Divas — Champion opting to take a count-out loss to Naomi on the March 24 Raw.

AJ’s extraordinary title reign which will span more than 300 days by the time WrestleMania 30 takes place started at WWE Payback 2013 when she used cold-hearted tactics to defeat her former friend Kaitlyn. Since then, the unyielding champion has thwarted every challenger thrown her way, maintaining an unrelenting hold on her precious title.

AJ’s historic championship run hasn’t been without its challenges her rivalry with the stars of E!’s “Total Divas” escalated to its boiling point over the summer when the unhinged titleholder blasted the reality stars with a scathing “pipe bomb” on Raw. The controversial tongue-lashing rocked the WWE Universe and ignited a rivalry among the WWE Divas that will culminate at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Batista punched his ticket to a WrestleMania main event in New Orleans by overcoming 29 other Superstars to win the Royal Rumble Match in January. The contest was his first match back after a nearly four-year absence from the ring. Upon returning to WWE, the always-candid Batista made his objective perfectly clear: to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event of WrestleMania 30. The encounter will be a personal one for The Animal who had a heated exchange with The Mexican Aristocrat via social media before he even returned to WWE. The two crossed paths again in the Royal Rumble Match where The Animal launched his rival over the top rope en route to his huge victory. On the Feb. 10 Raw, an enraged Batista hit Del Rio with a vicious Batista Bomb, sending his rival through the announce table. Afterward, WWE COO Triple H told The Animal he must keep him in the ring because it's best for business, so he could have Del Rio at Elimination Chamber. The Wyatt Family vs The Shield (6-Man Tag Team Match)

According to WWE.COM: They’ve never been stronger. There’s no dissension in the ranks, no confusion as to the nature of their mission. Everything is going according to plan. Reassurances like this are all the WWE Universe has heard from The Shield over the last few months. Even while the group seems to teeter on the edge of an internal blowup, even when Roman Reigns tosses his teammates in the Royal Rumble Match and even as Dean Ambrose touts himself as “The Baddest Man in The Shield,” the song has been the same: We are united. For their sake, that had better be true, because at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, they’ll have to deal with The Wyatt Family. The stories of WWE’s two three-man wrecking crews couldn’t be more opposite at this point. The Shield members, little more than a year removed from being ambitious, talented rookies, have each become stars in their own right. Ambrose is the longest-reigning titleholder in WWE, having clutched the U.S. Championship since last May. Rollins has made believers out of anyone who crosses his path. And Roman Reigns not only set a new Royal Rumble Match record for the most eliminations in a single melee, but he also came within a Hound’s hair of beating Batista to main event WrestleMania XXX. With that success, though, comes the threat of inflating egos, and dissent — however quiet, and however much they’d deny it — has found its way into the Hounds’ doghouse. A miscue here, a minor spat there, and The Shield seems just a little bit more vulnerable than they’d care to admit. Even if they’re the odds-on favorite in every Six-Man Tag Team Match they enter, the men in black’s greatest threat has seemingly reared its head from within. Which brings us to The Wyatts. Only on the scene six months, the depraved cultists have methodically massacred Superstars of all shapes and sizes. Kane was nearly sent to oblivion, Kofi Kingston destroyed, The Miz all but sacrificed and Daniel Bryan brutally dispatched after he dared to defy the Family by joining it (only to turn on them when the opportunity presented itself). Most recently, they cost John Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, proving their ambitions know no bounds. There’s also no confusion as to the pecking order: Erick Rowan & Luke Harper act as a hive mind, marching under the orders of Bray Wyatt himself. No titles, no records to muddy the waters. There is Bray’s word, and everyone else is the enemy. Now, the enemy is The Shield. The match was demanded by The Hounds of Justice after The Wyatts cost them a chance to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title inside the Elimination Chamber. The Wyatts likely see it as an opportunity to dismantle another dominant force. Given their record of late, it’s not out of the question. The Shield, meanwhile, likely see it as the final piece of their plan: Take out the faction many in the WWE Universe predicted would cross their paths. According to WWE.COM: If WWE -- World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton thought his Road to -- WrestleMania would be without peril, The Face of WWE found out on the Jan. 27 edition of Raw that cruise control will not be an option. On Sunday, Feb. 23, -- Orton will put the title on the line against five Superstars including Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Sheamus, Antonio Cesaro and Christian in an Elimination Chamber Match, live on pay-per-view. Bryan, Cena and Sheamus qualified for the contest after the interfering Wyatt Family cost The Shield the win in a Six-Man Tag Team Match on Raw Jan. 27. Cesaro and Christian, meanwhile, won qualifying matches against Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, respectively, on the Jan. 31 edition of SmackDown. Although the methodical WWE World Heavyweight Champion has competed in five previous Elimination Chamber contests, he has never won inside the steel combat zone, making the setting of Feb. 23’s high-stakes bout all the more intriguing. The Cenation leader, on the other hand, has won three of the four Elimination Chamber Matches in which he’s competed. Daniel Bryan has also tasted victory inside the inhospitable cage, winning one of his two journeys inside the Chamber. Sheamus, who returned to action at Royal Rumble after several months on the disabled list, will enter the Elimination Chamber for the third time in his WWE career on Feb. 23. The three-time World Champion has never prevailed inside the structure. In Cesaro and Christian, the Feb. 23 WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match boasts two Elimination Chamber first-timers. Good and evil will meet head-on this Sunday when WWE’s beloved “Yes!” man, Daniel Bryan, faces the sermonizing savage known as Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble.
With his seeming indoctrination of Bryan several weeks ago, Wyatt may have thought he was on his way to helping yet another follower tap into his inner monster. Yet, as the WWE Universe and Wyatt found out in one of the most rousing scenes in Raw history on Jan. 13, The Beard cannot be tamed. Just one week after donning Wyatt Family garb for the first time, Bryan escaped Wyatt’s clutches and decimated The Eater of Worlds inside a padlocked steel cage, much to the jubilation of WWE fans.
Bryan’s short-lived affiliation with the Family, it appears, was a setup all along, a means of getting close to the enigmatic evildoer. In his short time in WWE, Wyatt has established himself as a master of head games, but how will he react knowing that he was outplayed by the tenacious submission specialist?
The two Superstars have crossed paths before, including in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at WWE TLC in which The Beard fought valiantly but narrowly lost to The Eater of Worlds and his towering disciples, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. Wyatt expresses precious little concern over victories and losses, seemingly placing greater importance on spreading his message. Still, one might assume he will have more to prove in his imminent showdown against the former WWE Champion.

Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar

On Jan. 26 at Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar returns to a WWE ring for a fight, though his opposition will not be any ordinary Superstar but rather a true giant in the form of the 7-foot, 425-pound Big Show. Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, accepted a challenge issued by The World’s Largest Athlete on SmackDown, clearing the path for a colossal fight between arguably WWE’s two most intimidating warriors.
The turbulent Lesnar surprisingly reappeared on the last Raw of 2013 to not only name himself the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but to also brutalize Mark Henry — a punishing act he repeated the following week, fracturing Henry’s arm and dislocating his elbow with the Kimura Lock. Moments later, Big Show stormed the ring and made The Beast Incarnate look uncharacteristically human, tossing the former mixed martial artist’s nearly 300-pound frame across the ring.
Big Show confronts Brock Lesnar on Raw
Big Show has since dispelled the notion he was trying to be heroic, instead stating simply that he has disliked Lesnar since The Beast Incarnate’s initial stint in WWE a decade ago. Even though the two juggernauts collided back then, both Superstars are different, more evolved, combatants now: Lesnar’s fighting game in 2014 is informed by his experience dominating the Octagon, while Show has added the lethal KO Punch to his already XXL-sized arsenal.
Even if the 30-man Royal Rumble Match wasn’t taking place on Jan. 26, the ring would still have to be reinforced to accommodate this monstrous matchup. As the WWE Universe remembers well, a June 2003 altercation between The World’s Largest Athlete and the Superstar then dubbed The Next Big Thing was so massive and so intense that it literally broke a WWE ring in a moment that lives on forever in WWE highlight reels.
What will happen with the behemoths tie up again on pay-per-view? Will Big Show back up his words and prove that Lesnar is not unstoppable? Or will The Beast, intent on pushing his way into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, be victorious against the giant who packs dynamite in his fist? With both Superstars fueled by disdain, the one safe bet is that Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar is less likely to look like a sanctioned wrestling bout than a knock-down, drag-out fight between the two biggest dogs in the yard.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena

In what is being called the biggest championship rematch in history, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton will defend his title against John Cena at the 2014 Royal Rumble.
This time, however, there will be no tables, ladders or chairs involved in the outcome. This epic rematch will be a true test of both Superstars’ skill inside the squared circle. After announcing the monumental bout, Stephanie McMahon declared that there will be no stipulations, no interference and no excuses in the championship clash. It will be one fall to a finish and will end by pinfall or submission.
The battle scars are still fresh on both competitors from a brutal Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match at WWE TLC 2013. Though he was handcuffed to the turnbuckle at one point, Cena battled free from his shackles and nearly became the Champion of Champions. The cunning Viper, however, shoved the Cenation leader off a ladder, sending him crashing into a table propped up in the corner. That gave Orton the opening to grab both titles from their golden perch high above the ring, unifying sports-entertainment’s top two prizes into one ultimate championship.
Cena wasn’t going to go quietly into the sunset after coming up short at WWE TLC. The next night, Cena crashed Orton’s celebration and urged The Viper to give Daniel Bryan an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Title. The Apex Predator did clash with Bryan in non-title action later that night, but when it looked like the bearded wonder’s resilience would bring him a huge win, Orton put a stop to it with a blatant low blow. And when Cena rushed to Bryan’s aid, he got a ring-rocking RKO for his troubles.
There won’t be any room for shenanigans on Jan. 26, 2014, when Cena and Orton write another chapter in their storied history that dates back to their time in WWE’s developmental system. Though the vicious temptations of the TLC Match won’t be looming nearby, there’s still no doubt that they’ll throw everything they physically have at each other to walk out of Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center and onto The Road to WrestleMania XXX with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in their possession.

Rob Van Dam won a 20-man Battle Royal during Monday Night Raw to become the number one contender for the United States Championship. He will face current US Champion Dean Ambrose this Sunday night WWE SummerSlam.

18 other men were eliminated before Van Dam would stay toe-to-toe with Mark Henry. As Henry charged Van Dam while RVD was on the apron, Van Dam dropped and pulled the rope. This used Henry’s own momentum against him, and sent him spilling over onto the outside.

Van Dam will now face Ambrose Sunday night during SummerSlam’s pre-show for the United States Championship at 7:00pm ET on YouTube.com and WWE.com.
